Humber Scholarships

Humber School of Creative and Performing Arts may offer scholarships to deserving performers in the Jazz Category at Toronto Festival of Music 2011. Directors are required to supply the panel of judges with completed soloist forms, supplied to you in the directors package, for every soloist.

Awards


Toronto Festival of Music offers awards that are based solely on the recommendation of the adjudicators. Therefore awards may not necessarily be presented in all categories.

Outstanding Soloist Award

Plaques will be awarded to students who play an outstanding solo during their performance at the Atlantic Festival of Music. Outstanding Soloist Awards will be announced at the evening concerts. To be eligible, students must be listed on the Soloist form supplied to the director.

Most Outstanding Soloist Award

The most outstanding soloist will receive a cash award of $100 from the Toronto Festival of Music. To be eligible, students must be listed on the Soloist form supplied to the director. This award will be announced at the Friday evening concert.

Outstanding Section Awards

Plaques will be awarded by the panel of judges to instrument sections (Trumpet, Clarinet, Percussion, etc.) exhibiting exemplary musicianship.

Most Outstanding Ensemble Award

Concert Band/Orchestra/Brass Band * Jazz Band/Jazz Combo * Choir * Drumming

A most outstanding ensemble in each of the four categories will receive a trophy and cash award of $300. These awards will be announced at the Friday evening concert.
